About

Al Alam Palace serves as the ceremonial palace of Sultan Haitham bin Tariq and is one of the six royal residences of the Sultan. While the palace itself is not open to the public, its striking exterior and surrounding area make it a popular tourist attraction. Notable for its unique and modern Omani architecture, the palace facades feature vibrant blue and gold pillars. It stands majestically in Old Muscat, flanked by the 16th-century Portuguese forts of Al Mirani and Al Jalali. Visitors can enjoy excellent views of the palace from outside its gates, particularly from the Mutrah Corniche nearby, and capture photographs of its distinctive design against the backdrop of the harbor and mountains.
