About

The BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, often referred to as Neasden Temple, is an intricately carved Hindu temple and an architectural marvel located in Neasden, North-West London. Constructed entirely of Indian marble and Italian Carrara marble, and Bulgarian limestone, without the use of structural steel, it was the first traditional Hindu temple in Europe. Visitors are welcome to explore the mandir's stunning exterior and interior, admiring the intricate carvings that depict deities, musicians, dancers, and flora. It serves as a peaceful place of worship and a centre for community activities and cultural understanding. There is also a permanent exhibition, 'Understanding Hinduism', that educates visitors about the faith. The temple complex includes a permanent exhibition, a Haveli (a traditional Indian mansion used for community functions), and various prayer halls. It offers a unique opportunity to experience a piece of India's rich cultural and spiritual heritage in London, providing a serene and inspiring atmosphere for all who visit.
