About

Chidorigafuchi Moat is a picturesque waterway located on the northwestern side of the Imperial Palace. It is widely recognized as one of Tokyo's most exquisite spots, especially during the spring cherry blossom season, making it a prime destination for 'hanami' (flower viewing). The moat is lined with hundreds of cherry trees, and when they bloom, their branches drape over the water, creating a stunning tunnel of pink and white petals. During this time, visitors can rent rowboats and paddle along the moat, offering a unique and memorable perspective of the cherry blossoms from the water. Even outside of spring, Chidorigafuchi offers beautiful views and a peaceful atmosphere for a walk, reflecting the natural beauty and historical grandeur of its surroundings.
