About

Horse Guards Parade is a large parade ground located between Whitehall and St James's Park, historically forming part of the Palace of Whitehall. It is a significant ceremonial ground in London, best known for hosting the monarch's official birthday celebration, Trooping the Colour. Every day, visitors can witness the Changing of the King's Life Guard ceremony, a display of traditional British pageantry featuring mounted cavalry. The building itself, Horse Guards, dates back to the 18th century and is guarded by unmoving sentries on horseback. Beyond its ceremonial importance, the open space offers views towards St James's Park and acts as a tranquil, historical thoroughfare. It's an excellent spot to observe military traditions and soak in the regal atmosphere of central London.
