About

Kensington Palace is a royal residence set in Kensington Gardens, in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea in London, England. It has been a residence of the British Royal Family since the 17th century. The palace was the official residence of Diana, Princess of Wales, and is currently the official London residence of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. The palace is also famous as the birthplace and childhood home of Queen Victoria, and visitors can explore the rooms where she lived. Exhibitions frequently change, offering insights into the private and public lives of past and present royals. The beautiful gardens, including the Sunken Garden which was a favourite of Princess Diana, are also a major draw. Today, parts of the palace are open to the public, managed by the independent charity Historic Royal Palaces. It offers a fascinating journey through royal history, art, and fashion. Visitors can see the King's and Queen's State Apartments, the Victoria Revealed exhibition, and Diana: Her Fashion Story.
