About

Koishikawa Korakuen Garden is one of Tokyo's oldest and most historically significant traditional Japanese gardens, dating back to the early Edo period. It was originally built by the Tokugawa clan and later overseen by Mitsukuni Mito, incorporating design influences from both Japanese and Chinese landscapes. The garden features a central pond as its focal point, surrounded by meticulously crafted hills, bridges, and winding paths. Various scenic spots are designed to represent famous landscapes from Japan and China in miniature, such as a replica of Lake Biwa. Visitors can enjoy the beauty of the garden throughout the seasons, with cherry blossoms in spring, vibrant greenery in summer, brilliant autumn foliage, and serene winter scenes. It's an oasis of calm and beauty perfectly illustrating traditional Japanese garden aesthetics.
