About

The Millennium Underground Railway, or M1 line, is not just a mode of transport but a historic attraction itself. Opened in 1896, it was the first underground railway in continental Europe and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Its quaint yellow carriages and beautifully preserved historic stations, each unique, offer a glimpse into late 19th-century urban development. Riding the M1 is like stepping back in time. The line runs along Andrássy Avenue, connecting Vörösmarty tér with City Park, making it a convenient and charming way to reach several major sights.
