About

The National Art Center, Tokyo (NACT) is a distinctive art museum located in Roppongi, recognized by its striking glass-wave façade. Unlike many museums, NACT does not maintain a permanent collection but instead focuses entirely on presenting a diverse and dynamic program of temporary exhibitions. This unique approach allows it to consistently showcase a wide range of artistic styles and periods, both Japanese and international. With an impressive 14,000 square meters of exhibition space, it is one of the largest exhibition venues in Japan. The museum's flexible design allows for multiple exhibitions to run concurrently, providing visitors with a rich and varied cultural experience. The architectural design by Kisho Kurokawa is a work of art in itself, featuring a soaring atrium, conical structures, and abundant natural light. In addition to the exhibition spaces, NACT includes an art library, an auditorium, and a variety of cafes and restaurants, making it a comfortable and engaging place to spend an afternoon. Its commitment to ever-changing exhibitions ensures that there's always something new for art enthusiasts to discover.
