Place Bellecour is one of Europe's largest open squares, and the largest pedestrian square in Lyon, France. Situated between the Saône and Rhône rivers, it is a bustling hub for both locals and tourists. At its center stands an equestrian statue of King Louis XIV, a prominent landmark and meeting point. The square is also home to a statue of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, author of 'The Little Prince', who was a native of Lyon. Throughout the year, Place Bellecour hosts various events, including concerts, markets, and the famous Fête des Lumières (Festival of Lights) in December. Its central location makes it an ideal starting point for exploring Lyon's historic Presqu'île district.
