The Rainbow Bridge is a magnificent double-decked suspension bridge spanning Tokyo Bay, connecting Shibaura Pier with the artificial island of Odaiba. Its iconic status is enhanced by its nightly illumination, which alternates between white, green, or coral red during the day and a spectacular rainbow display at special times, using solar energy collected during the day. While vehicles can drive across, pedestrians can also enjoy the breathtaking views from two walkways – one on the north side offering panoramic vistas of central Tokyo and the other on the south side looking out towards Tokyo Bay and Odaiba. Cycling is not permitted on the walkways, but bicycles can be rented a dolly to push it across. The bridge is particularly popular during sunset and after dark, when the cityscape lights up in a dazzling display. It's a prime spot for photographers and anyone looking to experience Tokyo's modern beauty.
