About

The Rosario Islands, or Islas del Rosario, are an archipelago located off the coast of Cartagena, Colombia. This stunning collection of about 27 coral islands is renowned for its vibrant marine life, crystal-clear turquoise waters, and pristine white-sand beaches, making it a Protected National Natural Park. Visitors can indulge in a variety of activities, from snorkeling and scuba diving in the rich coral reefs to kayaking through mangrove tunnels or simply relaxing on the idyllic shores. Boat trips from Cartagena are the most common way to explore these islands, with many tours offering stops at various points of interest, including the Oceanario (oceanarium) where you can see marine species up close. While the islands themselves are free to visit, many activities and services come with a cost. This includes boat transportation, guided tours, equipment rentals for snorkeling or diving, and any food or drinks purchased on the islands. Some private islands also offer accommodation, ranging from rustic bungalows to luxurious resorts, providing an immersive escape into this Caribbean paradise.
