Santorini Caldera

The Santorini Caldera is a large, submerged volcano crater, a geological marvel that dramatically shaped the crescent-shaped island of Santorini. Formed thousands of years ago by a massive volcanic eruption, its steep, multicolored cliffs plunge into the Aegean Sea. From the caldera's edge, visitors are treated to unparalleled panoramic views of the island's whitewashed villages, the deep blue sea, and the smaller volcanic islands within the caldera, namely Nea Kameni and Palea Kameni. These views are particularly stunning at sunrise and sunset.
