Tijuca National Park is an urban rainforest in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, covering approximately 32 square kilometers (12.4 square miles). It is largely a replanted forest, the result of extensive reforestation efforts in the 19th century, and is one of the world's largest urban forests. The park is home to hundreds of species of plants and animals, many of which are endangered. It offers numerous hiking trails, waterfalls, and panoramic viewpoints, including Vista Chinesa, providing a refreshing escape from the city's bustling pace.
