About

The Municipal House, or Obecní dům, is an exquisite Art Nouveau building and concert hall, considered one of the finest examples of Art Nouveau architecture in Prague. Built between 1905 and 1912, it stands on the site of the former Royal Court and is a masterpiece of Czech artistic craftsmanship. It is home to the Prague Symphony Orchestra and hosts a variety of cultural events, including concerts, exhibitions, and balls. Its lavish interiors feature works by prominent Czech artists like Alfons Mucha, and visitors can take guided tours to admire the Smetana Hall, the Mayor's Hall, and other sumptuously decorated rooms. There are also cafes and restaurants, including the beautiful Municipal House Cafe. It's a must-visit for lovers of Art Nouveau and classical music.
