The Pera Museum is a prominent private museum located in the historic Tepebaşı district of Istanbul, housed in the beautifully restored Çukurcuma Hamam. It was established by the Suna and İnan Kıraç Foundation and opened in 2005. The museum is celebrated for its three permanent collections: 'Orientalist Paintings,' which includes Osman Hamdi Bey's famous 'The Tortoise Trainer;' 'Anatolian Weights and Measures,' showcasing a vast array of ancient measuring devices; and 'Kütahya Tiles and Ceramics,' displaying exquisite examples of this traditional Turkish art. Additionally, it hosts significant international temporary exhibitions.
