Pierre Loti Hill

Pierre Loti Hill (Pierre Loti Tepesi) is a picturesque hill overlooking the Golden Horn, named after the French naval officer and novelist, Julien Viaud (who used the pen name Pierre Loti) who frequently visited and wrote about Istanbul. It offers some of the most iconic panoramic views of the city, particularly the historic Fatih district and the serene waters of the Golden Horn. The hill is easily accessible by a short, scenic cable car ride from Eyüp Sultan Mosque, providing an enjoyable ascent. At the top, there is a charming historical cafe, also named Pierre Loti, where visitors can relax with a traditional Turkish tea or coffee and soak in the breathtaking scenery. Surrounded by ancient cemeteries and lush greenery, the atmosphere is tranquil and reflective, offering a perfect escape from the bustling city below.
