Spice Bazaar (Egyptian Bazaar)

The Spice Bazaar, also known as the Egyptian Bazaar (Mısır Çarşısı), is one of Istanbul's most famous and oldest covered markets. Located in the Eminönü quarter, very close to the Yeni Mosque, it was built in the 17th century as part of the New Mosque complex and initially funded by taxes levied on goods from Egypt. As its name suggests, the market is renowned for its aromatic array of spices, herbs, and traditional medicinal remedies. Beyond spices, you'll find an abundance of Turkish delight (lokum), dried fruits, nuts, teas, coffee, caviar, and other gourmet foods, all beautifully displayed.
